Paper 2: Language Use and Comprehension (语文应用与理解)

• Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

• Cloze Passage: Candidates have to choose the most appropriate word from the options to fill in brackets based on the context and content of the passage.

• Error Correction: Candidates correct the underlined sentence(s) with grammatical or structural errors based on the context of the passage.
  

Section 2: Reading Comprehension I

• Candidates answer multiple-choice or open-ended questions based on the content of a single passage.
  

Section 3: Reading Comprehension II

• Candidates answer questions based on the content of two passages shown on the examination sheet
  

Section 4: Summary Writing

• Candidates summarise the content of the passages from Reading Comprehension II into a short passage of about 80 words.
  

Skills Tested: Understanding of context-based vocabulary, grammar usage, ability to interpret text, draw inferences, analyse author’s intent, and provide concise written responses.

Paper 3: Oral Presentation (口试)

• Duration: About 20 minutes

• Candidates are given 10 minutes to watch a video clip and are requested to deliver a spoken report of no more than 2 minutes, based on the given topic and the content of the video clip.
  

Section 2: Discussion 

• The examiner will engage the candidate in a discussion based on the content of the oral presentation.
  

Skills Tested: Listening accuracy, ability to grasp details, infer meaning, and respond to questions based on oral input.
